The piers which form the two lateral corners of the hexagon are very close to
the main walls to which they are linked through an arch. The link is reinforced
with exterior buttresses protruding from the outside wall. There are narrow
interior galleries on both sides. The mihrab niche is less protuberant than that
" in the Molla Celebi Mosque. The effect of the central area is very
powerful. The latecomers' area is decked with a double portico, while the
courtyard has none at all.
